Non-licensed asbestos removal

Non-licensed asbestos removal works will be resulting from a risk assessment which deems the potential fibre release when disturbed to be low risk. These works will require Amianto’s competent trained staff following clear instruction and dedicated RAMs products may include, floor tiles, bitumen, mastics, resins. The works do not need any notification.

Non-Licensed Asbestos Removal still requires training; however, a license isn’t necessary due to lower associated risks.

Notifiable non-licensed asbestos work

All non-licensed work needs to be carried out with the appropriate controls in place. However, for some types of work , employers must meet additional requirements.  This is known as notifiable non-licensed work or NNLW.

All NNLW will be notified to the relevant authorities prior to the works commencing on the online NNLW portal. The determination if the works are NNLW will be conducted by a competent person and considerations include: notify work with asbestos to the relevant enforcing authority, identify areas where the work is being done, ensure medical examinations are carried out and maintain registers of work.
